Vintage style with a modern twist
Meet Doris.
Doris is our beloved 1963 Austin A35 Van. Her vintage exterior coupled with the modern engineering tucked away under the bonnet, perfectly embody the Chadder Design approach.
Our goal was to have a British made vintage van, which we could use as a platform to promote our own ‘vintage style with a twist.’ We use it for local deliveries to luxury hotels, Royal Palaces, and take it to Goodwood Track and promotional events.
Named the Austin A35 because it has 35 horsepower and uses the A series engine from the Classic Mini. Doris has also benefited from the following upgrades:
-
Chadder spec. supercharger
-
Rebuilt 1290cc A series engine with race components used on Racing A35’s at Goodwood
-
Midget rear axle, 5 link rear suspension, with coil over springs
-
Limited slip diff
Doris manages to be both rare and vintage, whilst earning admirers for her modern supercar performance and effortless style.
Like Doris, Chadder designed products look vintage, but are flawlessly engineered and British made with performance and style at their heart.

‘Fashion is For Now and Style is Forever’
Vintage style does not have to mean old fashioned
The Chadder philosophy has always been to use vintage style but re-engineer it to make it relevant to the needs of today.
We take inspiration and features from traditional and vintage bathroom design. Who doesn’t love the ornate, decadence of a traditional luxurious bathroom. Our products encapsulate traditional and vintage luxury but are far from old fashioned or outdated. We have taken timeless designs and engineered the fixtures, fittings and materials, to deliver the quality and performance required for modern, luxury lifestyles.

About Doris
Doris is a beautiful vintage van but underneath the retro exterior lies a “supercharged engine, just like the Chadder range!
In addition to making local deliveries, Doris regularly attends the Goodwood Revival and Goodwood Festival of Speed, earning fans wherever she appears. She has even been exhibited in the Royal Warrant Holders Pavilion at the Concours of Elegance, an event which showcases 300 of the finest and rarest motor cars at Hampton Court Palace.
